Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips and tricks:
Find your perfect vacation home:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Book your vacation in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Hosts sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Choosing and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Select your vacation week and max budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View- Beach Condo Sleeps-6 steps to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Is your family looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To make sure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the rental manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did your family have a terrific stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
