Myrtle Beach rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • To get the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to choose the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Start by selecting vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Newly added - Ocean Forest Plaza Condo 20th floor! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property manager before you book the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Does your group require specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
