Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Get the best value:

  • The earlier you can book, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • To find the largest rental for your budget, we recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations and attractions.

How to choose and book the rightvacation home:

  • To start, have your group select the best dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Newly Remodeled, At Palace Resort 15th floor Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is almost always available online. If they are not listed, reach out to the property management company before you book the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, keep an eye out for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Note any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are assessed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
