Booking the best vacation rental experience:
When to go & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer guests an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Selecting and booking your prefect Myrtle Beach rental:
- First and foremost, have your family select dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. New 1BR at Compass CoveIDirect views of the ocean! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Use these to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
Some things to know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
- To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, record any problem areas upon check in. Contact the host immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental websites make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
