Tips for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best value:
- Booking in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer.
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for local accommodations and attractions.
How to select the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your family needs. Newly Renovated Oceanfront - Corner w\/ Wrap-Balcony! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property management company before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You will need to work out what bed configuration is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a particular Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your invoice.
More considerations for your visit:
- Take a copy of the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- At Check-in, make note of any damages to the property and immediately contact the host. Record all coorespondence.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Respect the neighborhood. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
- Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
