Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have offers and deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

How to choose the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select a group lead, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Updated Camelot Resort Unit 409 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the host before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, look for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages are not attributed to your visit, note any problem areas during check in. Call the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of problems.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • Double-check the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your belongings at check-out. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • Leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
