Myrtle Beach rental home tips and tricks:

Getting the best value:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer pleasant temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines that include special deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book the perfectvacation home:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Nicely updated 2Bed 2Bath with Great Ocean Views has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property management company before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the rental manager right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Upon check-out, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
