How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, try shifting your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Choose your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Nicely Updated Ocean View 2 Bedroom \/ 2 Bath Condo! Sand Dunes 2745\/2746 has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is often accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before you reserve your home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to determine which bed configuration is right for your vacation group.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is bringing pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly rental. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

Some things to know before you go:

  • We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. text the rental manager immediately to record any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected everything. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
