Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental home value:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer is high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Make a plan and choose your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean and Lake views, Pet friendly, Golf cart. has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More considerations:
- Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few problems.
- Lock your rental home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
