Finding the best vacation home experience:
Get the best value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Booking your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Summertime is high season in Myrtle Beach. Book your Myrtle Beach rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Booking websites typically offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain discounts for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
How to pick the perfect vacation rental:
- Select dates and maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Creek Resort Condo - You and Me by the Sea has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what configuration is right for your vacation.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
Have a great stay:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or washer/dryer. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Note any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the owner. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
