Rental booking tips and tricks:
Getting the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warmer weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
- Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies often offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Often, management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Narrow your Search:
- Select your dates and spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Ocean Dunes Villas #16, stay close to the beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Additional considerations:
- Get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent quite a few difficulties.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars ruin your holiday.
- To make sure no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. E-mail the property manager right away to record any damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an incredible source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
