Strategies for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:
When to book & When to go:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your rental home up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- To get the best value, shift your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
How to choose and book your Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Fores Villas E103 - Oceanview! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking the property. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
- Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
- Looking for specific amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Tips for a smooth stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
