Tips to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
- Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal SC. To find the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
- Owners sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.
Filter your search:
- Start by selecting your trip dates and a spending budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. Ocean Lakes - Site 5211 Spacious Front Porch & Outdoor Gazebo has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
- If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
Know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make note of any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be respectful. Frequently, nearby homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
