Myrtle Beach rental home booking tips:
When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:
- Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Booking in Fall or Spring months is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties.
- Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides contain money saving offers on nearby shops and restaurants.
Make a plan and pick the best Myrtle Beach rental:
- First, have your group commit to trip dates and a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean Lakes Beach House, 2 bedrooms, 2 baths has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property managers charge additional pet fees.
- Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
During your stay:
- Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home while you are out, just like you would at home.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your visit, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Respect your neighbors. Often times, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
