Tips and Tricks to get the perfect rental home experience:
Sticking to your rental budget:
- Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- To book the most suitable vacation home within budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Some property managers offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for more information.
- Many rental management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guides which will include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Planning, selecting, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your family agree to trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes \"Neptune Cottage\" Beach House has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, email the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.
- Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Store the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your vacation.
- To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas during arrival. Contact the host right away to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Re-check every room of the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
