Vacation rental home tips:
When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
- The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are reserved early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers usually offer guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Planning and picking your prefect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Choose your vacation dates and max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Myrtle Beach Resort B 435 has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before booking the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is right for your group.
- Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
More considerations for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, note any problem areas upon check in. message the property manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Did you have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for clients to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
