Tips and Tricks to get the optimal Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to a budget:

  • Booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is an excellent way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have offers and deals for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select your vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean View Double Suite at Family Resort + Official On-Site Rental Privileges has 1 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email or call the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Print and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During arrival, note any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Record all coorespondence.
  • Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local scenic spots.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • Re-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience find their best rental home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
