Our top Rental property booking tips and tricks:
How to get the best rental value:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in the Spring or Fall is a great way to save money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
- The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked early. Reserving your rental home 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer renters an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guides have deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Ocean View King Suite with Arcade Game! Landmark 1423 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before you book your home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
- Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
During your stay:
- We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Upon arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many problems.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Use the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
- When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to stimulate more bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
