Tips and Tricks to get the best vacation home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. Reserving a rental home in the Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area travel guide magazines which will include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.
Planning, picking, and booking your prefectvacation home:
- Start by having your group agree to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the configuration you need. Upscale and Modern Ocean View Queen Suite!- Sea Mist 50707 has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is often available online. Otherwise, call the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you simply love, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
- If your group is vacationing with pets, you must book a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Get the host's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your . Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make sure damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the host immediately to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- When it's time to leave, take a final walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to propel new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
