Tips to get the best rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are the most expensive season along the coast of SC. To book the most suitable vacation home for your budget, we recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain coupons for local accommodations, tours and attractions.
Planning and choosing the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, select your vacation week, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Oceanfront views pool sleeps eight steps to the beach daily rentals welcome has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property owner before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
- If your family is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly rental. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
- Looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations for your visit:
- Put the owner's information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Lock your rental home while you're out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Record any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did your group have a fantastic time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
