Tricks and tips to get the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

Sticking to a spending plan:

  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation property up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Owners sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best rental:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Ocean\/Boardwalk two blocks away. Close to restaurants and businesses has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly available online. Otherwise, contact the property management company before you book the vacation property. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly vacation rental. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .

During your stay:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately contact the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
