Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Winter holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Property management companies usually offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Selecting the perfect vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Start by selecting a vacation week and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Oceanfront 1 Bedroom Condo w/ Amazing View + Official On-Site Rental Privileges! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, search for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. .
- If your family is bringing pets, you'll need to book a rental that allows animals. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Be aware that some hosts charge additional pet fees.
Additional considerations:
- Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
- To make certain that damages aren't linked to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon check in. E-mail the property manager immediately to document any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
- Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an excellent resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a great time? Many rental managers make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
