Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips:

When to visit Myrtle Beach & When to book:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of SC. To get the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we highly recommend booking in the Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Many management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the best rental in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by selecting your vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Oceanfront Family 1 br + Kids Bunk Nook B has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is generally available on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before booking the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine which bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, search for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Add the host's information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas during check in. Contact the host right away to document any damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've never otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
