Tips and Tricks to get the best Myrtle Beach rental home experience:
How to get the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, try shifting your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer pleasant temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property managers typically offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
How to pick the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Oceanside Villa on Fantastic Beach - Great for Kids: Booked for 2023
has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. - Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
- Are you visiting for a specific attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your group is bringing pets, search for a rental that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
- To make sure that damages are not attributed to your family's visit, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few difficulties.
- Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually an excellent source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- When it's time to leave, complete a walk-through to make sure you have not forget anything. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
