Getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring months is our best tip for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines contain coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Narrow your Search:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and select a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanside Villa on Fantastic Beach - Great for Kids: Booked for 2023
has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is regularly accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you book your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds. You will need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you will need a rental that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make sure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good ratings to inspire future reservations. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
