Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental booking tips and tricks:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your rental home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Choosing the best vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Select a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oceanview 1BR,High Level,Great Views,Heated Pools! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually available online. If they are not listed, call the host before you reserve the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, search for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental
- If your family is vacationing with pets, you must reserve a pet-friendly property. Get information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.
More considerations:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are very helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to stimulate new reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
