Strategies to get the very best vacation rental experience:
Sticking to your spending plan:
- Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
- Booking websites frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Finding the best rental home:
- Choose a group leader, select your vacation week, and select a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. ON The Beach 2 bed/ 2 bath 3rd Floor Condo only Steps Away From The Beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is normally available online. Otherwise, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.
- Does your group require unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
During your stay:
- Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Hosts are available to help! Don't be shy to ask questions during your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you're out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
- During arrival, make note of any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have never otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel new bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your experience find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
