Strategies to get the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Book your vacation in Fall or Spring to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides have discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Choosing and booking the rightrental home:
- First, have your group commit to date ranges and a maximum budget.
- Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. One minute drive to beach with golfcart! Updated, beach decor & clean! has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email or call the property owner before booking the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
Considerations for your stay:
- Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors disrupting your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental while you're out and about. Protect your property!
- Double-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
