Ocean Lakes has activities for all age groups in the huge recreational center, arcade, miniature golf course, basketball courts, volleyball, snack bars, pools (one indoor and one outdoor), humongous ocean front, observation deck, and pocket playgrounds throughout. There is really something for everybody.

This open and bright stilt home offers 4 bedrooms (1 King, 2 Queen, 4 Twins) and a sleeper couch. Two full baths, both with tub/shower combo. This home will sleep 12 comfortably. Each bedroom has a flat screen tv with extended cable, as does the indoor and outdoor living areas. A stack washer and dryer are available for use in the laundry closet.

Beds are not made prior to your arrival, so please plan accordingly. We do not provide soap for bathrooms or for washing dishes, but if you aren't able to bring these with you there is a modest convenience store located in Ocean Lakes and there are many grocery stores outside of Ocean Lakes' premises.

Rental home tips:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Planning and choosing yourrental home:

  • Start by having your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family needs. Steps from the Beach! has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often available online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before reserving your rental. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Visiting for a specific event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge additional pet fees.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. Store the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be respectful. Often, adjacent homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
