Tips and Tricks for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:
When to visit & When to reserve a Myrtle Beach rental home:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To find the best value, consider changing your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer great temperatures, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
- Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Winter holiday get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some owners offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides contain discounts for nearby accommodations and attractions.
How to choose the best rental home in Myrtle Beach:
- First, have your family decide on vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration you need. Papaya Suite: 2 BR Condo on the Ocean has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the host before booking the property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach attraction you love, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
- If your family is vacationing with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge additional pet fees.
More considerations:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the instructions to your phone.
- To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of problems.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local scenic spots.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
