Our top Myrtle Beach rental home tips:
When to book & When to go:
- Summer is the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are booked very early. Reserving your rental property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental.
- Some property management companies offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Booking websites typically offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Many property management companies supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guides which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Make a plan and pick the perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:
- Select a group lead, choose your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Pristine Oceanfront Suite with Enticing Views has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach vacation rental search.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If not, email the property owner before reserving the home. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation.
- If there's a specific Myrtle Beach destination you crave, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Pet fees or could be applied to your agreement.
Advice for a fantastic stay:
- Add the property manager's phone number to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- During arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Leave feedback! Hosts rely on good feedback to compel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
