Strategies to get the perfect rental home experience:
When to visit & When to book:
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your vacation home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can reserve a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation property 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
- Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guides that include money-saving offers, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
How to select the perfect rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- Begin by choosing a vacation week and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. 2 Story, 3 BdRm with loft - 2B Gloucester Terrace has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, contact the property manager before booking the rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation group.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
- Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
Have a great stay:
- Add the owner's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Make a record of any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be helpful if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents many difficulties.
- Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Lock your rental home while you are out and about. Keep your property safe!
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to make sure that you've packed all personal items on check-out day. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
