Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Finding the best rental home value:
- Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation home in Fall or Spring is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties.
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner your group can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
- Property managers frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.
Narrow your rental Search:
- First, have your group choose dates and a maximum budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Kingston 2nd floor 2 Br Villa w/pool & beach has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property manager before booking your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your group.
- If there's a certain Myrtle Beach beach you are crazy about, browse homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .
- If your group is traveling with pets, you must reserve a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
Know before you go:
- Be sure you get the host's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. We recommend storing the manager's information in your smartphone.
- To make certain damages aren't linked to your family's visit, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Get in touch with the property manager right away to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and places you would've never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did your group have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
