• The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
• Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
• Property managers frequently offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance. • Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
• Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
• Go through the property one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take photos of the property to record its condition.

If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear it.
