Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Find your perfect rental:
- June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the largest rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions.
- The sooner your group can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, visitor guides contain money saving offers on nearby attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First, have your group commit to dates and a max budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Savannah Shores - 2BD/2BA - Pool - Gated Community has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is regularly available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you book the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
- Does your family require special amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
- Remember to include your furry companions! Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Extra fees or applied to your agreement.
During your stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
- During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious visitors bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let crooks spoil your family vacation.
- At departure, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive more bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
