Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in Myrtle Beach. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in Fall or Spring to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • The earlier you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable properties are reserved very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer rate reductions for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. .
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Get details on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge additional pet fees.

During your stay:

  • Add the host's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many issues.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, nearby homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
