How to book the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- June, July, and August are high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Book your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your group qualifies for a special rate.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guides have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Make a plan and choose the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a max budget.
- Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Sheraton Broadway Resort
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If not, email or call the property management company before you reserve your rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is optimal for your trip.
- If your family is traveling with pets, filter your search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for information on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Try a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental.
Know before you go:
- Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- Hosts are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Keep your rental home locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
- Note any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be valuable if there is a dispute.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- Did you have a terrific stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
