How to find the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Booking your rental up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal SC. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Myrtle Beach vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
- Booking websites usually offer customers an option to buy trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
- Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a spending budget.
- Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your group requires. Shore To Please - A145 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed types is often available on booking pages. Otherwise, call the host before you book the home. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine what bed configuration is suitable for your family.
- Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your contract.
- Are you visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
Additional considerations:
- Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of issues.
- Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
- Note any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are helpful if a dispute is filed.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
