Finding the best Myrtle Beach vacation rental experience:

Finding the best rental value:

  • Summer time is high season in Myrtle Beach. Booking your Myrtle Beach vacation rental in the Fall or Spring is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, travel guides have coupons for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • First, have your family select vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. Spacious Condo Near the Ocean! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often available online. Otherwise, email the property management company before booking the property. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what is right for your family.
  • Are you visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to find a property that allows animals. Ask for specifics on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Be aware that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a smooth stay:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Make a record of any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately send them to the property manager. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that can be very helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few difficulties.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let thieves ruin your holiday.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to confirm you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on good reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best vacation rental. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.
