Our top Myrtle Beach vacation rental home tips:
Getting the most from your spending budget:
- In the Myrtle Beach area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of SC. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities.
- Some hosts offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
- Look for your local Myrtle Beach area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guides contain discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Use filters to search efficiently:
- Select a group leader, choose your trip dates, and select a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Spacious Ocean View King Suite w\/ Balcony + Beach Access has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, email the property manager before booking the vacation property. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your group.
- If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to book a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, size, and type restrictions. Some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
Advice for a smooth stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your trip.
- To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the host right away to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your life at home. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and places you would've not otherwise known!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to make sure you did not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
- After your trip, leave a review! Property managers rely on great reviews to inspire new reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.
