Rental home tips:

When to book a Myrtle Beach rental home & When to go:

  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserve your Myrtle Beach rental property in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which often include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach area magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by selecting potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Stay minutes from Barefoot Landing! Golf & Shopping! has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rentals search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly available on booking pages. If not, call the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you are enamored with, keep an eye out for homes that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • During arrival, make note of any issues with the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local attractions.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to stimulate more reservations. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
