Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:
Cost saving strategies:
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the best value, consider changing your family's Myrtle Beach trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer great temperatures, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic.
- Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your group qualifies for a discount.
- Property management companies usually offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby tours and attractions.
Choosing the best vacation rental in the Myrtle Beach area:
- First, have your group decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Steps to Atlantic Ocean and Currents Water Park located in a gated community. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
- Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is commonly accessible online. Otherwise, reach out to the property owner before you book the rental. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
- If there's an individual Myrtle Beach beach you simply love, browse rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
- Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
- Some rentals allow pets, and others do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added charges may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
Tips for a great stay:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your phone.
- Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are assessed.
- Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or washer/dryer. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of issues.
- Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a terrific source for finding the best local attractions.
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
