Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rental homes during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To get the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have coupons for local tours and attractions.

Make a plan and pick a perfect Myrtle Beach rental home:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your vacation week, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group needs. Ocean Lakes 1105 A, 2-bed 2-bath Just steps to the beach, sleeps 6, Golf Cart has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is normally accessible on booking pages. If not, email the property manager before booking the home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you are crazy about, browse properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • To make certain that damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas during arrival. Contact the property manager immediately to relay your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Be respectful. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Hosts rely on good ratings to drive future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your review.
