Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The best rental homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is an excellent way to save money on your vacation rental. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some property managers offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines have discounts for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Selecting the perfect vacation home in the Myrtle Beach area:

  • Select your vacation week and spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Great Deal! Surfside Myrtle Beach - 3 Bedrooms! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If not, email or call the host before you book the home. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches.
  • If your family is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for details on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • If there's a certain Myrtle Beach attraction you crave, browse properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking

Additional considerations:

  • We recommend storing the owner's information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • During check-in, make note of any issues with the property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Double-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to drive new bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
