Our top Myrtle Beach rental booking tips:
Get the most from your vacation rental budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
- Summer months are high season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, consider changing your trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
- Some hosts offer rate reductions for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family before you book.
- Property management companies usually offer their guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
- Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.
Planning and picking the right Myrtle Beach rental:
- Choose a designated group leader, select your dates, and choose a budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the configuration your group requires. T401: Oceanfront Studio Retreat has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, email the property owner before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your family.
- Traveling with pets? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities.
- Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
Advice for a wonderful stay:
- Add the owner's contact information to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent lots of concerns.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
- To make certain that damages aren't attributed to your visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Speak to the host right away to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be very helpful.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Employ the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and scenic spots you would've not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
- Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to make sure you didn't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition.
- Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.
