Tips for getting the perfect Myrtle Beach rental experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in coastal SC. Booking your vacation home in Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of acceptable properties. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guide magazines contain discounts for local tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First and foremost, have your family select vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. 2023 Remodeled
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or might be applied to your agreement.

Have a great stay:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To ensure that damages are not linked to your stay, inspect for any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the host right away to record your findings. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent feedback to propel more reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
