Strategies to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. To get the best value, change your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic.
  • Reserve your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

How to pick the perfect vacation home in Myrtle Beach:

  • Start by choosing trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. NEWLY RENOVATED Oceanfront Corner Unit! 5-STAR North Tower 3 Bedroom, 2 Bath has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the property management company before you book the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish what configuration is suitable for your group.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some hosts charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental.
  • To make certain damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas during check in. message the host immediately to record any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home. Practice the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will appreciate that you share your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
