How to book the best Myrtle Beach vacation property experience:

Sticking to your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Myrtle Beach area. To find the most suitable rental home for your budget, we suggest reserving in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Myrtle Beach restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • In the Myrtle Beach area, The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Booking your vacation property up to 12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners frequently offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have discounts for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning, picking, and booking a perfect Myrtle Beach vacation home:

  • Begin by choosing your trip dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your group requires. 272 Flamingo Oceanside Village Waterfront Cottage has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Myrtle Beach rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the home. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Ask for information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, property owners charge additional pet fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact information to your phone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are a fantastic source for finding the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon check-out, take a walk-through to confirm you have not leave anything behind. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
