Strategies for getting the best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • To find the best value, consider shifting your family's Myrtle Beach vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer excellent temperatures, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The earlier you can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitors guide magazines which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Myrtle Beach visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the best vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your group commit to a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the bed configuration your family needs. The Palace 705 ocean view condo has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the host before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to determine what configuration is optimal for your vacation group.
  • If there's a particular Myrtle Beach destination you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either close by, or those that cater to your needs.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Additional fees or costs may be applied to your agreement.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your home life. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental property while you are out! Don't let crooks ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
