Getting the best vacation property experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The sooner you can book a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
- Summer time is high season in the Myrtle Beach area. To book the most suitable vacation home within your budget, we recommend booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction or discount.
- Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Myrtle Beach visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for nearby accommodations and attractions.
Planning, selecting, and booking the right Myrtle Beach rental home:
- Start by having your family choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Tranquil Escape 8th Flr 3BR Angle Ocean View Condo has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
- Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, email or call the host before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds. You'll need to establish what is suitable for your trip.
- Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or might be applied to your invoice.
- Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
More tips for your visit:
- Store the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few issues.
- Lock your rental property while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
- Upon check-in, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all coorespondence.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known about!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
- Double-check the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
- Remember to leave feedback! Hosts rely on good ratings to compel more bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
