Tips and Tricks to get the very best Myrtle Beach vacation home experience:

Finding the best rental home value:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Myrtle Beach. Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowds.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Myrtle Beach area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Planning and choosing yourvacation home:

  • Begin by choosing trip dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Travel the World has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, email the host before booking the home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to establish which bed configuration is best for your group.
  • If there's an individual Myrtle Beach destination you are crazy about, look for properties that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, size, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Advice for a fantastic stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Document any damages to the property upon arrival, and immediately send them to the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors bothering your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationing families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
